PROFESSIONAL LEARNING OUTLINE
TIMELINE FOR LEARNING
Principals and assistant principals will watch a call-to-action video that explains why we need a full-time campus digital learning specialist (CDLS).
Learners will take a survey to determine which apps and programs they currently use and which ones they want to learn more about.
Learners will watch a video on flipped classrooms and blended learning and discuss the importance of incorporating social emotional learning activities into learning activities into their own lessons.
During weekly PLCs, teachers will bring in a lesson they plan to use in the next week so they can add SEL and digitize it to make it more accessible for their virtual students.
Teacher-lead PL based on the Digital needs assessment they filled out in the Fall. Virtual Modules will be accessible to all teachers through a choice board. The CDLS and SELS will be available to help as needed with building lesson plans, answering questions, etc. In the afternoon, the SEL and CDL Specialists can meet with teachers in small groups or individually to provide personalized instruction, modeling or help with finishing their lessons.
1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month:
The content of these modules will be determined by the ongoing needs of the teachers and may vary from content to content. The CDLS will model learning strategies with apps and programs as necessary to ensure that teachers understand how use them effectively in their lessons.
